To make sure you buy the correct size I have come up with a pretty accurate way to measure this.
1.If you have a vest that fits, lay it flat on the table, do it up and measure the distance under the arms. Double it and that is your size
2.If it is a lace up, put it on, measure the gap on the laces on 1 side and add it to the underarm measurement in step 1.
3.If you need a larger size than the one you have then put it on and measure the gap from clip centre to clip centre at the largest gap. Add this to step 1 & 2
