To make sure you buy the correct size I have come up with a pretty accurate way to measure this.
Measure the biggest part of your upper body, convert to inches, ADD 2" (these are US sizes and they have funny measurements) and this will be the size you should order. eg chest 41"/42" size is 44", guts 53"/54", size 56". Easy.
